Landslide Inventories
To test and present the landslide triggering model, we compare simulations with several landslide inventories that were collected by WSL after intense rainfall events (see red dots in mail below).
We will run the model to simulate the landslide triggering during the intense rainfall events. Below we show the inventories collected by WSL.
Landslide Inventories
For a first case study (Napf 2005) the results are shown in the figure below. The colors show when and where mass is released in the simulation for an intense and enduring rainfall event and compares it with inventory data (black dots). While the number and volumes were similar, the position does not match exactly. Note that a similar performance can (only) be expected for a well calibrated system (fitting parameters for a similar event or region) and appropriate estimates of initial conditions.
