Attention

Interpret carefully!

It is essential that the user is interpreting the model results with caution. The triggering of shallow landslides (in reality and the modeling) is very sensitive to the spatial distribution of soil properties (soil depth, water saturation, root distribution, …) rainfall patterns; accordingly even a perfect model cannot predict the specific time, location and size of mass release.

In addition, the model is based on various simplifications and does not include all details at various scales that may shape the triggering process.

Hence, the model is not able to predict all properties of the landslide patterns but aims to reproduce some main features like number and volume of landslides, and it provides information on regions with high risk of mass release.
